My Dumb

Good evening. I would like to share 3 pictures taken this morning. There's absolutely nothing to see in these pictures. For some reason I cannot fathom, I feel compelled to share my Dumb when it shows itself. Which is far too often, of late. Anyway, I thought I had time to fire off a Front Porch Report this morning. I no sooner stepped out when I heard my camera snap a picture. "What the he--?" I checked, and sure enuf there I was, digitally captured, in all my glory. I admit that it took a second for me to stop thinking, "Who the he-- is that?" "Wait a sec... Oh! :) That's me!" "WHOA!"
"I let me out in public like that!?"
I didn't shoot the picture, tho. Hmm. I planted the fanny in the usual spot and examined Camera. Everything checks out. Battery issue maybe. It's low. I proceed to scan the yard, the trees and the Porch for any visitors, when, out of the blue, the camera snaps another picture. Again, not so flattering. Sitting like a lady is a foreign concept to me.
"Alright! What's going on!?" Another quick check of Camera yields nothin', nada, zip. After a couple of minutes squinting at it, daring it to take another, I give up and continue scanning for visitors. It's the low battery. Must be. What a beautiful morning. 58° of cool air and brilliant blue skies. I get up from the Porch and head down the walk to see if I can find the little sparrow making all the racket in the shrubs by the driveway. Halfway down the walk the camera snaps another picture.
"THAT'S IT! CAMERA'S POSSESSED!!!"
After a few more minutes inspecting Camera, I realized I was out of time. Duty calls, work beckons. A short time later I'm in the car staring at Camera, sitting there so innocently in the console. I wait for it to snap another shot by itself. Nothin'. I pick up Camera for one last inspection and there it is!!! It's been there the whole time! Apparently, I had engaged the "One Touch Recording" feature. I missed seeing the icon in the display. The massive 10 pixel icon. The one you need a jeweler's loupe to see. The icon indicating the One Touch Record feature had been turned ON. It was hiding amongst the myriad of other 5 and 10 pixel icons that digital cameras proudly display on screen so picture viewing is difficult at best. Yes, you can turn off the display. But no sooner do you clear the screen of said display, when you find yourself asking, "is the flash on", "do I still have it in low light mode", "how low is the battery"? So you end up turning the blasted display back on, effectively obliterating a clear view. Anyway, while carrying Camera this morning, obviously my fingers were, of course, "TOUCHING' the touch screen. Tap tap tap. This has taken my "fat finger syndrome" to a whole new level.
Humphf!
Laughing at your Dumb, when and if it shows up, makes it's company a little easier to tolerate. And occasionally, it's downright fun!
Goodnight, Travelers. Dream those wonderful dreams!!!
