Good morning. Our current weather conditions are such that, for a second, I gave serious consideration to the notion of playing hooky... or is that hookie?... maybe hookey?
...
Ok, a not so quick and bewildering Google search is trying to explain to me that hookie/hooky/hookey is derived from a Dutch term "hoekje spelen" which, as best as my brain can figure, is a term similar to "hide and seek". Upon looking up hoekje, Google's translation is nook. Spelen's translation is play. I like it. I want to "nook play" today and enjoy this wonderful morning in a manner that shows my appreciation of such mornings in the form of a non-hurried sit-down outside with tea and Camera in hand and all five senses engaged. But NOO-OO-OOO. I've been condition, brainwashed, primed into thinking I must be at work like a good adult, so that those "elite few" among the corporate minded persuasion, who did the brainwashing, can sit and enjoy this morning while reaping what I sow. *Humphf* Well, there's that, and I need my paycheck. :)
Back to the weather! We have 56 of the most delicious degrees right now, playing with 97% humidity, calm winds and overcast skies. What a lovely group inviting us out to play today. I wanna play with them, not work! I can feel the petulance growing. Work will be getting the childish, petulant, cantankerous and sulky side of me today.
May your day be delightful and sulky free, Travelers. Sulking puts a veil over everything that obscures the beauty of the day.
