What Is Prudence Exactly

Good morning.
Chippy came out to say hello when I visited the Front Porch. So did a bunch of Hornets. I didn't stick around to take pictures of the Hornets. Is that prudence? I mean, I was cautiously thinking of my future, right?  :)
Synonyms of the word prudence include caution, wisdom, shrewdness... I don't think I like that word. Shrewdness. Sounds... I don't know... mean somehow. Good judgement is also listed as a synonym... wait...how can "good judgement" be a synonym of prudence. Two words. Doesn't that make it a definition?  Synonyms... what else have we got? Common sense... but here we fall into the two word definition again. I don't believe in common sense. It doesn't exist, as far as I am concerned. That belief could be directly related to the fact that I don't have any. But I think EVERYTHING must be learned. Either the easy way or the hard way, depending on the individual, but learned nonetheless.  Back to synonyms of prudence... circumspection? That's a tough word to wrap the tongue around. My brain is probably gonna round file that one. Care. As good a word as care is, ya ever notice how hard the tongue, throat and jaw must work to produce that particular sound. Seems unbalanced and cramp inducing. It's a simple, single-syllable sound that requires far too much effort by the lower half of the face. Sagacity. Hmmm... :) Sagacity! I LIKE IT! Sagacity! 4 syllables and it rolls off the tongue so much easier than the single syllable of care. Sagacity. Makes me smile, too. Can't put my finger on it but, for some reason I find it a humorous word. Sagacity, by definition, is "the quality of being sagacious". Yeah, okay. Definitions like that would throw my feathered crest straight up in irritation (if I had feathers), as I would be forced to look up sagacious, if I didn't already know it means to be prudent. It's also a little harder to say, sagacious.
So, in summing up this rant, I guess that means I was exercising my sagacity when I bolted to the safety of the house to avoid the Hornets that took offense at my presence in the M Woods. Yeah. I'm sticking to that.
For now anyway... who knows where my brain will go tomorrow. It meanders where it will, constantly changing it's opinions, likes and dislikes. Now, I wonder, could that possibly be a definition of freedom?
:)
It is a lovely morning, holding the promise of a warm afternoon. The beginning of our Indian Summer, maybe? Seems a tad early. Don't Indian Summers come in October, maybe as late as November? Anyway, it's 68° with 57% humidity, 5 mph breezes and fair skies. I think the WIP, as ordinary as it is, does an excellent job portraying that weather recipe.
Have a Great, Grand and Glorious day, my fellow Travelers of this most excellent Universe. I'm gonna see if I can wake up my sleeping senses. Only my taste has been truly awakened this morning, with the first sip of putrid coffee. Why do I insist on torturing my taste buds this way?!? Is it because I've let myself be brainwashed into thinking I'm supposed to have coffee in the morning? As opposed to, say, Pepsi? Well, piffle on that! Where's the blasted Pepsi!? My sense of taste would not be tortured AT ALL by Pepsi! And my sense of freedom would be wonderfully appeased.
:)
