This mornings current weather conditions: 67°, 97% humidity, 3 mph breezes, which feel exquisite by the way, and overcast skies. Possible stormy weather later today. Don't we need it. The grass is crunchy when we walk on it. As of August 1st our area is still listed as abnormally dry, but we hafta be teetering on the fine line between ab.dry and mod. drought. Frankly, I think we've hit moderate drought. They just need to update the map. Isn't watermelon great? I think I want more.
Sparkly.
The WIP features my visitor this morning.
A rather large, lovely Crow. And a quiet one. He never made a sound while I was visiting the Front Porch.
I came home yesterday to hundreds of visitors! Unfortunately my arrival sent them flying for other lawns to forage on. The picture falls far short of showing how many there were.
Grackles. Lots and lots of Grackles.
They were a bit bolder than most birds. This guy flew into the bush right beside me and peeked out for a closer look. They were on the move constantly, preventing a decent shot of them.
I was going to the Porch after giving up on the lost photo op with the grackles, when Chippy posed for a picture.
For a moment I thought he was actually challenging me for ownership of the Porch. He wasn't. He just held his ground a lot longer than most.
Work! I must go now. A great day I wish for you all!!
