My Favorite Robin

Good morning.
My favorite Robin, back at his post. I watched as he and his mate did a fly by of what I guess is "their" territory. Then, as they flew back past the truck, his reflection reached out and snagged him. The battle was on!
-----------------------------------------------

It's a nice day with 42°. 62% humidity, calm winds and fair skies. It was quiet and peaceful this morning. And, it's taken me 5 minutes to decide I got nuttin'. That's 4 and a half minutes too long.
Have a great day today, Travelers.

Of Downys And Robins

I'm waiting for the grocery store to open. Ginger ale and chicken soup awaits. While I was out on the Front Porch this guy
entertained me as he smashed his face into the tree trunk looking for breakfast, and this guy
entertained me as he considered his own reflection in L's truck. I'm tellin' ya, this Robin is a riot! He even does battle with his own mate! I watched him attack her twice! He seems to recognize her right away before any damage is done, then gets intrigued by his own reflection once more, in the meantime, he forgets who that Robin is foraging for worms right next to the truck and when he sees her, he attacks again! His little brain synapses fire off to a different tune! Bless his little heart. AND bless his little mate for sticking with him! Must be exhausting having to battle every other Robin in the territory and her own mate as well!
Beautiful weather we're having. 53 wonderfully comfortable degrees, fair skies and calm winds. Store is open! Now to muster up the will to go gather some cold friendly foods for the day and hope I feel better tomorrow for work. Stay virus free, my Fellow Travelers.
Love and Happiness to you!

Coughing Would Be On My H List

Woke up coughing. IF I were to have an H (hate) list, and IF I were to share it with anyone, coughing would be on that list! *Humphf!
--heavy sigh--
Weather this morning-
Take a guess...
You're right, a picture cannot convey certain info. Trying to guess the weather in this particular picture, other than the fair skies-giveaway by the moon, is impossible. 29°, calm winds and 89% humidity are the weather features the picture cannot share.
PIFFLE!
If I'm coming down with that BLASTED cold everyone is sharing at work, I'm... I'm... Well, I don't know WHAT I am, but I'm something!!!
PIFFLE!
May you dance thru life with a minimal amount of illnesses. No, make that NONE! No illnesses!
Also, may you never be confused as to exactly what you are.
Loved and Cherished!!

Wonderfully Comfortable Front Porch

The Front Porch was wonderfully comfortable in shirt sleeves this morning. No rush to dive back inside for warmth, no featherless goose and no frozen fingers. Spring, perhaps? We've been tricked a couple of times into thinking it was here. Even fooled a few birds who were a bit premature in their return to northern climes. Speaking of climes, today's weather, brought to you by Mother Nature, is currently 35 delicious degrees, 96% humidity, fair skies and calm winds. A yummy selection of elements served up for breakfast this morning. Speaking of which, I'm hungry.
May your breakfast be of the delicious variety, my Fellow Travelers, whatever that breakfast may be!
A Great, Grand and Glorious day to you also!!

Things Are Waking Up

Things are waking up around the Front Porch!
Bulbs are sprouting!
Chippy's are chippying!
Squirrels are squirrelling!
Robins are robining!
And this guy is back,
attacking his own reflection in the window of L's truck.
I Love That Robin!
Don Qui-Red-Breast and his foe, the mighty Windshield!!
Blast it! No more time to play. I gotta go to work now.
Weather! Quick, the weather!
47°-fair skies-90% humidity-calm winds!
Perfect day for Don Qui-Red Breast to do battle! :)
A good day to you, Travelers!

On The Wispy Clouds

Good Morning from the Front Porch!
There was a beautiful rose color on the wispy clouds in the sky,
we're already at 39°, with 93% humidity, calm winds and fair skies.
And then there was this little guy, or gal, singing in the tree.
Quite the spring recipe, Mother Nature!
May your spring be Great Grand and Glorious, my Fellow Travelers!!

Nine Day Difference

We had a beautiful spring day today. I don't know what the high temp was but I saw 63° on Phone at around 3:30 this afternoon. Fair skies, 41% humidity and 7 mph winds with gusts up to 17 mph. Felt good outside. It was so nice out, L took a rake and cleaned up the yard.
Here is the yard today, April 10th.

Here is the yard on April 1st.
What a difference 9 days can make!!

Camera loves it when there is plenty of light.

No WIP. I'm being lazy.

Check out this pic of my latest toy!
It's called an Aquaflame. An led light/fountain combo. Light and water! Two of my favs!! It makes the softest trickling sound. Soothing...
I'm done. As sorry as this sounds, I think I'm headed for bed already. Coffee can't put a dent in this tired. Goodnight, Travelers. Sleep well...

No Right To Laugh

I remembered that I forgot. Forgot to post this morning. Tired lately. Asleep before the sun goes down, tired when the alarm goes off... I don't wanna talk this drivel. Weather! That good ole stand-by. Which reminds me. I'm not the only one who resorts to the weather when I got nuttin'. This morning at work it fell to me to go unlock the restroom door when a gentlemen buzzed for admittance. As I walked toward the man, I apologized and said, "I should have unlocked the door earlier." To which he promptly replied, and I quote, " Well, at least the weather is better." Say what? I felt a hitch in my step when my brain registered exactly what he said. It took a great deal of self control not to laugh out loud at the absurdity. I too absurdly default to the weather when my brain fails to come up with a pithy response. Which happens to be most of the time. I had absolutely NO right to laugh.
Thank the stars for the weather!!!
A WIP from this morning-
Yep. Another gray day. One of the best things about a gray day? No squinting!!

A visitor yesterday-
Robins sing so pretty.

From the Keep It File-
They grow 'em big in these parts!

Starting Without Checking

Starting this post without checking the weather or stepping outside might not be a good idea. Since the weather is my go to subject when the brain is dead, I'm not sure how that's gonna work. Phone, my precious, what's the weather like on the Front Porch this morning, you rectangular wealth of information you? ... Take heart, Phone. Your lack of decent service does not diminish the fact that you are an amazing piece of technology. We'll try again... here we go! It's ... wait... what? It's 45° out there!?
45?
OBACE must check this out forthwith!! Ready up the 5 sense meters! Where's Camera!? Camera wake up! Let's go!!
It's rather nice out there. Here's the Sense Meter sum-up-
EARS- Dripping! Everything was dripping. It sounded like it was raining, but it wasn't. Birds were singing EVERYWHERE and not a one to photo. They're loving the warm weather! The only thing competing with their song was the traffic noise. Very loud this morning.
EYES- Everything was wet and the sunrise was just beginning to show up in the sky. Camera wasn't able to catch the rose color happening on the clouds floating by.
NOSE- There was just a faint whiff of wood smoke from a fireplace burning somewhere, along with a touch of exhaust and that great smell after a heavy rain.
TOUCH- The 5 mph breeze was enuf to bring out the goosebumps after a while, and I could feel a mist hitting my bare arms and face. The mist felt good. Oh, and I feel I must mention the large drop of what I hope was water hitting the top of my head all of a sudden. I shudder to think what else it might have been since I was standing under a tree at the time.
TASTE- I forgot to put sugar in my coffee. *humphf* but, you know what? I'm not hating it! Still trying to figure out why.
May your senses bring to you all the wonders of the Universe they are able, my Fellow Travelers. Love and Happiness to you and don't forget to LIVE LAUGH and LOVE your way through life!!

I used to dream of a wild garden filled with blue and purple flowers..

Brain Not Working

I got nuttin'. My brain is refusing to work in the mornings any more. I'd whack the back of my head to rattle the marbles around, stir things up a bit, but my arms don't bend that way anymore.
*Humphf*
What's the weather like, Phone? At least you work sometimes. 36°, overcast, calm winds and 93% humidity. COOL! Heavy rain and a possible Thunderstorm late tonight!!! Thank you, Phone! Now it's yer turn, Camera. Get yer motor running.
Another gray day. So the promised Thunderstorm could be a real possibility! WHOO-HOO!
Camera tries, but in my hands it's a struggle. That chubby little Robin (the black blob in the middle of the gray, twiggy picture above) was singing a lovely song this morning, while sitting in the tree three houses down, Zoom to the max so I could enlarge and identify, Camera manage to capture just enuf red in the bird to positively identify it. Such a good Camera. I'd pet it, but that's seems a bit extreme. If any one saw me, it might cause a raised eyebrow. I don't wanna raise any eyebrows but my own. Now that I think on it, I might be the source of many a raised eyebrows. Hmmm... moving on.
Speaking of T-storms- here's a picture from the Keep It File!
It was nighttime when I video taped this lightning. Lit up the yard like it was daytime!! I may love a good T-Storm. But there are those who do not. My heart goes out to those who do not fare well during them.
A three G day to you, Travelers! No time for a proof read! I gotta go!!

Cute Little Fella

This little guy was singing his heart out when I left for work today. Cute little fella.
Goodnight, Travelers.

Up Through The Branches

Good Morning. A gray day with Fog/Mist, 34°, 97% humidity and 3 mph winds. Everywhere around the Front Porch was the sound of dripping water. Because everything was DRIPPING water. It was actually a very nice sound. I got nuttin' this morning. Maybe later?
Up through the branches.
Took a picture of the large Pine in the NW corner of the front yard this morning. I wonder if he suffers because of his illness. I hope not. I need to take his picture when the sun is out.
May Love and Happiness be with you as you travel today, my Fellow Travelers.

From the Keep It File:
A Dandelion. Given to me by my Son. When they were young, all my children gifted these lovely flowers to me. I will always see the smiling faces of my Sons and Daughters that accompanied those gifted blooms. I love Dandelions! Even their name is awesome!

A Quick Goodnight

All day today it has rained, snowed, sleeted and any combo of the three. Camera preferred to look down to avoid getting a wet lens when it took the above WIP this evening. The temp at the moment is 35°. We have "Unknown Precip Fog/Mist" (I love that one!) and 9 mph winds to go with that temp. And, I admit, I am chilled. I'm also tired, so I'm done here. I love you, my fellow Travelers. Sleep well.
Another from the Keep It File

No Storm Yet

No storm yet. But it's cloudy out there. And chilly. The Front porch is currently enjoying 35°. 93% humidity, overcast skies and 3 mph E winds. Traffic noise LOUD, air chilly, eyes missed the blue but loved the gray, nose was asleep this morning and registered nothing in the memory banks, and my coffee is putrid. My fault. The putridness. I kept forgetting about it and had to nuke it 3 times to get the it hot again. Nothing like overcooked coffee first thing in the morning. Fresh is definitely best, if yer gonna drink the stuff. Must ready for work. May your day be one of the GREAT, GRAND and GLORIOUS type, with LOTS of the 6 L's to choose from. Brain food!! And plenty for all, so eat all you want!
Love and Happiness be yours, Travelers!
Looking thru my thousands of pictures, (not an easy feat, let me tell ya) and of the several hundred I've looked thru about a dozen I kept. Here's one of my favorites, that most likely I've all ready shared. Redundancy, it has become my middle name! :)
A lace leaf, or skeleton leaf as I've always called them. Beautiful, yes?

Seagull Daredevils

A parking lot WIP.
I don't know how high the temp got, but I saw 52° on my phone at 2 something o'clock this afternoon, while I was waiting for my friend to finish grocery shopping. A warm day!! Shirt sleeve day! A sweaty day... takes awhile to acclimate to higher temperatures. I also saw on my phone that they, the illustrious weather-guessers, are still saying a snow storm is coming tomorrow. Actually, make that tonight. It's sposta turn to rain rather early tomorrow morning.
While I waited for my friend I was entertained by some Seagulls. I think they thought that sitting with my car door open meant I was eating something. They flew quite close, in a very busy parking lot, hoping for a morsel to be thrown out. Was calling them Kamikaze's, but none met their sudden demise while dodging the moving cars. More like Daredevil's, then. Extremely capable flyers. With what appears to be exceptional aim. I saw a lot of people dodging the gulls deposits. I'm glad I was in my car and I'm glad my car was spared. Wish I had taken a picture of the car parked in front of me. Suffice it to say, it was not spared!
Well, piffle...
Couldn't stand it. Had to go out and get a Front Porch WIP. Current stats to go with it: Fair slies, 3 mph SE winds, 56% humidity and 45°. A beautiful evening before the storm!
Good night, my wonderful Fellow Travelers. Dream sweet dreams, tonight and every night!
Hmm...
Could be from the sweaty day, but I need new slippers... mine stink.
That could be categorized as t.m.i., right?

A Mare Named Roach

Ah, Roach? What's up!?
Ya gotta love the bugs that come with games!

Delicious Weather Recipes

The unofficial snowfall total from the April Fool's storm for our area is 7 inches. That's close to the 8 inches OBACE had guessed while out in the storm yesterday. Heavy, wet snow that was hard to move. Today, we're looking at a high of 46°! A whole lotta meltin's goin' on!! Even with the temp of 33° the Front Porch was noisy with the sound of dripping everywhere. And birds. Lotsa birds. Never saw a single one. Are my eyes getting that bad, or the birds just that great at camouflage? 89% humidity, 3 mph winds and overcast slies complete the weather breakfast served up by Mother Nature this morning. At least, in our neck of the woods. Whatever breakfast she serves up in your neck of the woods, I'm sure will be just as tasty!
I meant to post this next picture yesterday, but Geralt and I were having too much fun and I forgot.
Yesterday was another beautiful work of art by Mother Nature.
May all your days be filled with her delicious recipes!
LIVE LAUGH LOVE, Travelers!

Natural Response To An Unexpected Day Off

Witcher 3
That's right! My natural response to an unexpected snow day!!
Geralt, my man, we're off to find a vampire lurking somewhere in this GORGEOUSLY rendered landscape that is called Toussaint!!

Mourning Dove Soundtrack To An April Fools Snowstorm

An April Fool's snow storm!
This picture can't show much. I'll try again in a few minutes. 34° on the Front Porch. 7 mph winds and 92 percent humidity to go with the Light Snow Fog/Mist. A late winter wonderland. Or maybe it's an early spring winter wonderland. Ok, that's not working for me either. But I ain't changing it. It's purdy out there, whatever the nomenclature.
...
Waiting for the time to pass reminded me of a favored song!
Time Passages
 by Al Stewart
It was late in December, the sky turned to snow
All round the day was going down slow
Night like a river beginning to flow
I felt the beat of my mind go
Drifting into time passages
Years go falling in the fading light
Time passages
Buy me a ticket on the last train home tonight.
...
Ok. The bluey should be starting out there. It's 6 oclock...
Oh yeah, it was bluey out there. And the snow is much heavier now. Camera had some fun.
Here we go with the flash
Without the flash
With the flash
Without the flash
Pretty out there! And quiet. I'm positive a Dove was sitting on one of the power lines in front of the house. My ears were telling me he had to be right behind the trees in this next picture.
As shy as they are, if Dove could have seen me, he would have flown off. Instead, he sang for his mate the entire time I was on the Front Porch. A soft and hauntingly beautiful soundtrack for this quiet, snowy morning. May you have many, many beautiful mornings, afternoons, evenings and nights, my Fellow Travelers of this Amazing Universe!!
Guess I'm turning this into a 3 day weekend. I'm callin' out. Trusty can't handle this kinda heavy, slushy snow. He can't help it! It's his adorably short little legs. He is who he is. And he's awesome. Wouldn't want him any other way!
Just one more picture. To go with the very first one in this post. What a difference a few minutes can make, huh!?
